Cleaning Frequency for Dryer Vents and Dryer

Dryer Vents

It is recommended to clean your dryer vents:

  • At least once a year for regular use.

  • More frequently (every 6 months) if you use your dryer heavily or have a large household.

  • Immediately if you notice any signs of blockage, such as longer drying times or a burning smell.

Dryer Interior

For cleaning the dryer interior:

  • Clean the lint filter after every use.

  • Deep clean the inside of the dryer drum and other components every 3 to 6 months.

  • Inspect and clean the exhaust duct as part of your annual maintenance.

Signs You Need to Clean

  • Clothes take longer than normal to dry.

  • Dryer feels hotter than usual.

  • Lint builds up around the lint trap or in the vent.
